About

blog1.jpgI’m an academic editor and proofreader based in Brighton, UK. I studied Sociology at the University of Portsmouth (2002–2005), before receiving an MA and a DPhil in Social and Political Thought from the University of Sussex (2011).

I have been working as a copy-editor and proofreader since 2012. My specialist knowledge and interests are varied. This means I can provide a unique editorial service for people working in a range of disciplines, including philosophy (analytic and continental), critical theory, English literature, sociology, psychology and psychoanalysis, politics, art theory, cultural studies, and modern history.

To date, I’ve edited more than 700 books and articles for individual clients and publishers (such as Brill, Oxford University Press, Oekom, and Historical Materialism). My own research has also appeared in peer-reviewed journals and edited collections, and in 2017 my first book was published by Manchester University Press. Working on both sides of the publishing process – as an editor and writer – has given me an in-depth practical understanding of academic works and their unique requirements.

So, if you have a journal article that needs to be prepared for a specific publication, or a dissertation that requires proofreading before submission, or a book manuscript that needs to be edited, formatted or refined, please get in touch so we can discuss your project.
